Label The Love

Today I have something that will add that little extra touch to the big day! And the best part? It's a simple DIY project! I am a HUGE fan of personalized wine and champagne bottle labels! It is something small but in the end, will add some fun character and ROMANCE to the overall scheme of the big day! They are also great to use as favors or displayed in centerpieces as table numbers!

DIY: Labels that are made to attach to your favorite bottle of wine can be purchased from a variety of online sites. There is a huge variety of label styles and colors available to meet your wedding style! Simply personalize the wine label with names, event date and/or custom message. Here's the best part, when the labels arrive just peel and stick the label to your favorite bottle of wine/champagne! Talk about an easy DIY project! Yay!

For The Love Of The Game

With baseball season right around the corner I am overwhelmed with excitement for my beautiful cousin and bride to be! She will be tying the knot on home plate at Target Field, home of the Minnesota Twins! Talk about SPECTACULAR! I cannot wait to see what she has planned for the big day, all I know is that it will be beautiful! But in the mean time I was inspired to check out some baseball themed weddings, so much fun! Crackerjack boxes and baseball themed cupcakes, can you say "take me out to the ball game"?!

Shabby Chic: Mason Jars

One of my most inspirational use of shabby-chic decor is the mason jar! OBSESSED! Use them for centerpieces, flower vases, or candle holders as an unexpected twist to the traditional... the uses are endless! Fill with buttons, candy, or for a beach wedding try filling the jars with sand or sea shells!

A favorite of mine is to use mason jars as hanging lanterns, talk about a romantic yet rustic lighting option!
  • They are also an easy DIY project: simply wrap a length of wire around the jars lip (tightly) and then affix another piece of wire to the first piece to make a handle! As an alternative to the look, try securing them with twine and filling them with flowers to create hanging vases.

Mason jars make PERFECT drinking glasses for a truly southern chic inspired event, fill with a little Jack Daniels or sweet tea and your good to go!

And for the budget savvy bride, did I mention they are a great way to save some extra cash?!Woohoo!

Come Fly With Me

Come Fly With Me
Come Fly With Me by caitlin.l on Polyvore.com

This post is dedicated to my remarkable fiancĂ© Daniel and his love for aviation. I am so proud to say that Daniel was recently hired as a commercial airline pilot! With such a connection to the world of airplanes I feel it’s not only necessary but essential to have them included in the big day. Vintage airplanes are my inspiration!

North vs. South Continued

Minnesota has some beautiful contenders but there’s something to be said about the southern charm that Tennessee has to offer.  With the picturesque Appalachian Mountains and country atmosphere it is hard not to fall in love with all of the venues that the state has to offer! Below are some of the candidates:

The gorgeous Belle Meade Plantation in the heart of Nashville, Tennessee. This historic venue is the perfect location for a truly southern inspired celebration.  The site even offers tours of the plantation house to guests during the cocktail hour, how fun is that?!

Front Porch Farms is a picturesque antebellum-style farm that offers stunning views of rolling hills, natural forests, and remarkable views of the surrounding southern landscape.  The 32-acre estate features a 3-story main house, a guest house, vintage barn, pool area, and charming gardens. Front Porch Farms is located in Charlotte, TN just outside of Nashville.

North vs. South

Let's be honest, planning a wedding is stressful! The sad fact is, I have barely began the planning process. I am still day dreaming about the fantastic vintage details and looking for my perfect venue. With friends and family all throwing out different opinions I have a plate full of possible places, in multiple states! Ekkkk! Things need to be reigned in here a little people! So here's the deal, the state debate, the big day will either be in the state of Minnesota (Where I am from and grew up) or Tennessee (the place I hope to live and raise a family someday). So let the battle of North vs. South begin!

Still wanting the vintage southern feel I have found a few venues in/near Minnesota that might fit my expectations:

The Enchanted Barn in Hillsdale, Wisconsin. A beautiful rustic barn built in the 1880's surrounded by rolling country fields.

and

The Round Barn Farm Bed and Breakfast located just outside of Redwing, Minnesota. This venue provides a  beautiful country landscape and offers views to the Mississippi River Bluffs. Also, offering a unique spin on the traditional barn.
